Engagement Through Procurement Frameworks
Working with you to build long term, agile and sustainable supply chains
A Collaborative Approach
In excess of 85% of the schemes delivered by our team at i4 Projects have been procured through collaborative frameworks.
We are absolutely supportive of one-off projects and commissions and very much welcome this method of engagement. Our preferred approach however is frameworks and similar cooperative arrangements where our business can learn about the challenges of its customers and work with them to develop unique solutions.
Our Expertise
Through collaborative regional and national frameworks delivered over several decades, our project management teams have supported a wealth of different customers to include global aerospace companies, leaders in scientific research, national and international financial institutions, corporate entities, local authorities, many NHS Trusts, government associated organisations, public agencies and major defence organisations.
The Advantages of Frameworks
The value-added for our customers through frameworks can be wide-spanning and depends upon factors such as project scope, technical complexity, programme requirements and budget constraints.
In our experience, our customers have cited benefits to include:
- Established supply chains – Reduced project lead times with key supply chain partners being able to provide agile responses to new enquiries.
- Cost certainty – Where regular products, goods and services are required commercial benefits can be obtained across the supply chain.
- Value-added relationships – An opportunity to develop longstanding relationships with a partnering mindset.
- Resilient budgeting – Opportunities for collaborative approaches to design and cost planning to produce robust budgets and reduce the risk of post-contract changes.
- Prompt contractor selection – Ability to appoint under a direct award with fast-track supplier selection and reduced lead times.
- Enhanced supplier performance – An opportunity to encompass SMART objectives in contractual arrangements aimed at promoting good supplier performance and increased work allocation for suppliers meeting or excelling their KPI objectives (examples might include quality, cost variance from the budget, adherence to key dates, the attitude of staff, the extent of snagging and response times on any defects).
- Systems familiarity – Technical understanding and familiarity of existing services installations, often crucial in secure or secret establishments where specialist technical skills may be required in addition to security cleared operatives.
- Proactive risk reduction – Early project risk mitigation which might include our support in preliminary design stage mechanical validation surveys, mechanical plant health checks, evaluation of available electrical services or perhaps intrusive building surveys to ascertain the extent of Fire Risk Assessment works which cannot otherwise be ascertained.
- Continuous improvement – Can provide a full circle supplier platform for the wider team to evaluate existing methods, share ideas and seek new ones which lead to added value in the round, such as cost reduction, improved quality, efficiencies in programming and technological advances.
